The Jing Hot Stone Fusion Massage is particularly beneficial for long-term, persistent (chronic) pain, including osteoarthritis, chronic low back pain, and neck & shoulder tension.
There are times, however, when it is best to get GP advice, or exercise caution. If you enjoy a hot bath, with no ill effect, then this massage should be fine.
If in doubt, seek advice from your GP and please let me know if any of the following may apply to you:
- An acute injury, which is still inflamed
- Rheumatoid arthritis which is in its inflammation stage
- Any other inflammation in the body
- Nerve damage, neuropathy or sensitivity heat
- Diabetes: Heat can cause dehydration, triggering blood glucose to rise
- Heart disease: Heat causes the body to work harder to maintain temperature
- Varicose Veins: Heat is not appropriate as the veins will dilate further
- Sunburn or heat allergy
- Some skin conditions such as dermatitis may become aggravated
- Broken skin or bruises
- Medications that may cause an over-sensitivity to heat.
- During Pregnancy (see below)
During the First Trimester, we can safely treat and pamper you with the hot stones.
We do, however, need to apply a bit of caution. We will not massage or use heated stones around the sacrum and the abdomen area.
Pregnant women may receive treatment safely on the hands, feet, shoulders, neck face and upper back.
We’ll keep in constant communication and agree to cut short the session if you become too warm or uncomfortable.
